About the position

Sev1Tech is seeking a Configuration, Change, and Release Manager to develop a consolidated approach to configuration, change, and release management processes. The role involves assessing the current practices, proposing a strategy for consolidation, and leading the transition to the approved strategy. The manager will oversee a core team responsible for implementing enhanced processes within the governance structure of the customer, ensuring effective management of software, hardware, and documentation changes.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain configuration management processes to track and control changes to software, hardware, and documentation.
• Define and manage configuration items, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration baselines.
• Conduct audits to verify compliance with configuration management policies.
• Develop and implement change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
• Evaluate and approve/reject change requests, considering potential impacts on systems and workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate changes and manage expectations.
• Plan and coordinate releases, ensuring timely and efficient deployment.
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to schedule release activities.
• Monitor release progress, address issues, and provide post-release support.

Requirements

• BA or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree.
• Eight (8 plus) years experience in Information Technology.
• Knowledge and experience with multiple development methodologies.
• Significant process understanding.
• Successful track record of working with cross-functional teams involving both engineering and operations.
• Understanding of ITIL Asset and Service Configuration Management.
• Experience advancing process maturity and discipline incrementally in line with custom requirements, culture and constraints.
• Understanding of how to optimize automation support for Configuration Management, Change Management, and Release Management.
• Configuration Management (CM) tool knowledge.
• Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship to be able to get a DHS Public Trust.
