About the position

The Configuration Management Associate plays a crucial role in auditing configuration management activities, ensuring that results align with established baselines. This position involves updating network documentation, assisting in the decomposition of configuration items, and maintaining technical installation guidelines for network hardware standards. The role requires collaboration with project personnel and support teams to enhance understanding of product configurations.

Responsibilities

• Help audit configuration management activities by validating results against the baseline.
• Provide new or updated network documentation required to update configuration databases.
• Assist project personnel in decomposing configuration items into appropriate configuration units for specific projects or tasks.
• Help maintain technical installation guidelines and other documentation of network hardware standards to facilitate tracking.
• Assist in developing technical installation guidelines and other documentation of hardware and software standards to facilitate tracking.
• Assist customers and support personnel in understanding product configuration.

Requirements

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph is required.
• Basic knowledge of configuring and installing various operating systems and application software.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technological problems.
• Communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel.
• Good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and support personnel.
• Ability to learn to trace network cables and audit network switches and connections in transport closets.
• Ability to travel to network closets and buildings in the Ft. Meade area and the 50-mile radius.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
