About the position
The Configuration Management Specialist IV will provide essential configuration management support to the Power Propulsion Element (PPE) project at NASA Glenn Research Center. This role involves maintaining effective controls and tracking of project data, specifications, and documentation, ensuring that all project documents are version-controlled and archived appropriately. The specialist will also coordinate documentation publication, support project reviews, and facilitate data access for team members and management decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective controls and tracking of applicable/latest revision or version for project data and system components.
- Coordinate publication and collaboration of documentation and changes.
- Organize data to facilitate ease of access and retrieval for project team members and management decision-making process.
- Support various project reviews using agreed repositories for relevant data.
- Ensure that all project documents are version-controlled, maintained, tracked, and archived within the agreed systems.
- Create project repositories and libraries for all project configuration items.
- Provide data retention and storage for various projects.
- Coordinate engineering and project meetings, manufacturing meetings, and change control boards.
- Attend team meetings and release engineering drawings in Windchill.
- Maintain archive of minutes for engineering review boards and project control board meetings, including action items.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree and 5-10 years of experience; or High School diploma or equivalent and 15 years of experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office products and database knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and project managers.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
- Strong organizational and people skills.
