About the position

The Connected Hardware Design Engineer at Nissan will be responsible for the design, development, and release of telematics electronic components, ensuring they meet project requirements and timelines. This role involves tracking costs, optimizing designs for value, and coordinating issue resolution across departments and global regions. The engineer will also monitor and improve the quality of components in production, applying best practices and lessons learned throughout the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and release telematics electronic components to meet project timing and requirements.
  • Track cost and develop value-optimized designs.
  • Identify, investigate, communicate, and coordinate closure of issues across departments and global regions as needed.
  • Ensure best practices and lessons learned are implemented in the designs.
  • Determine root cause and corrective actions for issues discovered during development.
  • Monitor and improve quality of components in production.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related automotive electronics hardware/software experience preferred.
  • BSEE, BSCS or related engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience in MNO management, Modem certification and/or Modem log analysis is a plus.
