About the position

The Connections Director at Southeast Denver Christian Church is responsible for enhancing engagement within the church community, both in-person and online. This role focuses on developing and equipping volunteers to foster participation in community and service opportunities, ultimately guiding the congregation towards becoming more Christ-like. The director will also lead the Guest Services team to ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Southeast maintains a guest-friendly environment for optimal guest experience.
  • Establish a clear process and communication for community engagement and service opportunities.
  • Create a dynamic experience for first-time guests, including streamlined check-in processes.
  • Assist with onboarding for church ministry volunteer opportunities, promoting and maintaining various volunteer roles.
  • Be present on weekends in the Connections Studio and Guest Services areas to connect with the community.
  • Plan Connections classes in person and online, following up with interested individuals.
  • Disciple, develop, and equip volunteers for Connections, Baptism, and Guest Services.
  • Implement an empower, equip, release model for volunteer development, prioritizing individual giftings.
  • Create and coordinate a volunteer central ministry space for community engagement.
  • Oversee the baptism process, including communication, scheduling, and discipleship programs.
  • Coordinate volunteer teams for baptism assistance and oversee ushering and communion serving during services.
  • Collaborate with Operations Support to ensure clear labeling and direction for new guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and process creation skills with excellent communication.
  • Strong desire to work within a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to direct people at all levels under pressure with attention to detail.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom; experience with Planning Center is a plus.
  • A faithful, growing Christ-follower who models their faith to others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in church ministry or volunteer coordination.
  • Familiarity with community-building initiatives.
