About the position

As a member of the Wireless Hardware group at Apple, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative wireless connectivity solutions that enhance the performance of our products. This position involves working on groundbreaking system-on-chip designs that will enable new experiences for users, particularly in leveraging advancements in sensor technology. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring seamless connections between customers and their devices, as you collaborate with a team dedicated to building world-renowned wireless systems. In your role as an RF Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture and product-level design integration of next-generation wireless radio solutions across various product categories, including iPhone, iPad, Home, Watch, AirPods, and more. You will work within a small design team focused on integrating multiple wireless technologies into new Apple products. As the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for your technology, you will oversee the entire product cycle, from concept through to product introduction. This includes tasks such as front-end architecture design, component specification, modeling, design implementation, validation, production test coverage, and failure analysis. You will also engage in multi-functional collaboration with other engineering groups, including antenna design, industrial design, product design, production testing, regulatory compliance, reliability, and software engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture and product-level design integration of next-generation wireless radio solutions.
  • Own technology from concept through product introduction, including front-end architecture and component specification.
  • Develop line-up spreadsheets and modeling for RF hardware designs.
  • Implement design solutions and validate performance against specifications.
  • Ensure production test coverage and conduct failure analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate multiple wireless technologies into new products.

Requirements

  • Experience with RF component and circuit integration into consumer products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Fluency in one or more connectivity wireless systems such as WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, or NFC.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact closely with offshore engineering development and manufacturing partners.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative and high-quality communications products.
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility in a changing work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not required).
