About the position

The RF Hardware Design Engineer will be a key member of the Hardware Engineering team at Apple, responsible for designing and integrating next-generation wireless radio solutions across various product categories, including iPhone, iPad, Home, Watch, and AirPods. This role involves working on a small design team to integrate multiple wireless technologies into new Apple products, overseeing the technology from concept through product introduction, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering groups.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the architecture and product level design integration of wireless radio solutions.
• Own technology from concept through product introduction, including front-end architecture and component specification.
• Build and design RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling.
• Perform characterization, design optimization, and failure analysis.
• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional engineering groups such as antenna design, product design, production test, regulatory, reliability, and software engineering.

Requirements

• B.S. degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Good understanding of RF fundamentals, radio architectures, and RF component integration into consumer products.
• Expertise in one or more connectivity wireless systems like WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, or NFC.
• Experience with at least one RF simulation tool such as HFSS, ADS, Matlab, or SystemVue.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field.
• Experience leading projects from definition stage to mass production.
• Experience in architectural discussions with cross-functional leaders related to power supply and digital design for connectivity solutions.
• Experience with RF components and circuits design and integration into consumer products.
• Successful track record of delivering highly innovative and high-quality communications products.
