About the position

The Consent & Privacy Advocate at Ford Pro will serve as a vital link between the Technology department and the central Consent and Privacy organizations. This role is focused on ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and best practices, advocating for privacy-by-design principles, and collaborating with various internal teams to shape the company's approach to data privacy.

Responsibilities

• Champion data privacy within the global Technology department by promoting best practices and providing guidance to development teams.
• Provide technical expertise to central Consent and Privacy teams, translating complex privacy regulations into actionable guidance.
• Drive strategic vision and roadmaps to create alignment across different product groups for consistent implementations.
• Partner with business customers to integrate consent and privacy into technology solutions, ensuring alignment with global privacy policies.
• Collaborate with local teams on data privacy issues, reviewing code and conducting data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs).
• Stay informed about evolving privacy regulations and best practices, translating developments into actionable guidance for the Technology department.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of global data governance frameworks, defining data ownership and access controls.
• Assist with incident response and breach notification, working with teams to investigate and mitigate potential harm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information technology, privacy) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of proven experience in data privacy and compliance, with a strong understanding of technical aspects.
• Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
• Experience with data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) and data subject requests (DSRs) in a technical context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across multiple regions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPT).
• Experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment with a global reach.
• Experience with cloud computing and data security best practices.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
