About the position

The Conservation Corps - Texas GulfCorps program offers an entry-level opportunity for young adults to engage in conservation work across Texas. Participants will work on various land restoration projects in collaboration with federal, state, and local partners, gaining valuable skills and certifications in natural resource management. The program emphasizes professional development and aims to prepare members for future careers in environmental fields.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in land restoration practices including invasive plant species removal and trail maintenance.
  • Assist in prescribed burn preparation and public outreach activities.
  • Collect data, including GIS data, and perform debris removal.
  • Engage in general landscaping of public areas and other conservation activities.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and under the guidance of a team leader.

Requirements

  • Entry-level position requiring less than 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Familiarity with GIS and natural resource management is preferred.
  • Public speaking and team development skills are beneficial.
