About the position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of Conservation Education at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Interns will work closely with Education Coordinators to create meaningful experiences for Guests that emphasize conservation and cultural awareness. The role involves mentoring a team of Education Presenter interns and International Cultural Representatives, ensuring that onstage operations run smoothly through effective communication and problem-solving skills. Interns will be responsible for coordinating and implementing various projects aimed at enhancing the Guest experience, which may include engaging with Guests through Magical Moments, formal presentations, and personalized interactions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about wildlife conservation and education, and who are eager to contribute to a team dedicated to these values.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor a team of Education Presenter interns and International Cultural Representatives.
  • Support onstage operations through active communication and problem-solving.
  • Coordinate and implement projects to sustain and improve the Guest experience.
  • Interact with Guests through Magical Moments, formal presentations, and one-on-one interactions.

Requirements

  • Proven passion for wildlife conservation and conservation education.
  • Prior experience engaging with the public in a learning setting (e.g., zoo, aquarium, museum, science center, or classroom).
  • 3 months of formal or informal leadership experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have participated in an Animals, Science and Environment Professional Internship or Walt Disney World College Program prior to applying.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with a multi-cultural team or in an international setting.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Formal facilitation experience.
  • Ability to speak more than one language.
