About the position
The Conservation Parks Technician at Great Parks of Hamilton County plays a vital role in maintaining and preserving the natural beauty of parks. This part-time position involves various tasks aimed at protecting and enhancing natural resources, ensuring they remain accessible and enjoyable for future generations. The technician will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide outdoor recreation and education, contributing to the overall quality of life in the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform trail maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and clearing debris
- Conduct invasive species control, including herbicide application and manual removal
- Assist with habitat restoration projects, including planting and seeding
- Operate and maintain equipment, including chainsaws, brush cutters, and backpack sprayers
- Assist with other park maintenance tasks as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Some prior experience or education in parks & recreation, natural resources, facility management, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or related field
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines
