About the position

The Consolidated Services Packaging & Quality Intern position at BMW Manufacturing Company offers students a hands-on experience in a dynamic learning environment. Interns will engage in practical tasks related to quality logistics and packaging, contributing to various projects while developing their skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and process improvement. This internship is designed to foster personal growth and teamwork, allowing interns to implement their ideas and enhance the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support Inbound/Outbound Quality Logistics and Packaging at the Packing Plant with problem solving, data analysis, and system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, database structures, and KPI reporting using SharePoint.
  • Assist with special projects related to Quality Excellence.
  • Increase Direct Pass and Pallet Quality Adherence.
  • Manage current excel sheets for return material and CR processing for new development.
  • Generate overview reports of Outbound Quality topics from partner countries.
  • Conduct data management and analysis for quality processes.
  • Review and manage Packaging Data Sheets.
  • Create new automatizations for data manipulation.
  • Generate new Power BI data analysis.
  • Support the implementation of automated machine programming in the Packaging business.
  • Maintain Packaging Change Board records and actualizations.
  • Track changes for packaging concepts.
  • Document current and new processes and standards using VISIO and MS Word.
  • Assist with system rollouts.

Requirements

  • Problem-solving skills and improvement initiatives experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel (experience with VLOOKUP, Macros preferred), Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Basic knowledge of Packaging Engineering and statistical analysis.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completion of at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must provide GPA from their current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
