About the position

The Constructability Engineer role at AWS Infrastructure Services involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the effective design, planning, and delivery of AWS global infrastructure. This position focuses on driving constructability standards, optimizing engineering processes, and resolving complex issues throughout the project lifecycle, from site selection to operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in data center design and construction, contributing to the continuous improvement of AWS's infrastructure delivery.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Global Constructability team, Design Engineering and Construction Management teams to ensure consistency of approach
• Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation
• Drive commissionability improvements in designs
• Drive process improvements in the hand off from design to construction/commissioning
• Optimize engineering input post design completion, ensuring consistent roles and responsibilities
• Work closely with regional engineering teams to drive consistency
• Act as the initial point of escalation for complex constructability issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or a Construction related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Construction

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of experience in data center engineering
• In-depth understanding of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
