About the position

The Construction Administrative Architect is the overall lead responsible for ensuring quality assurance of architectural components in construction projects. This full-time position is based out of headquarters in Breese, IL, with some travel to other offices and project sites as necessary. The role supports various departments including Risk Management, Preconstruction, Business Development, Project Management, Field Operations, and Accounting, focusing on delivering high-quality architectural solutions and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competence in safety and build projects of high quality.
  • Create effective partnerships with clients, employees, and construction partners.
  • Deliver preconstruction services including Program/Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
  • Request quotes and budgets from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Present cost estimates, value engineering options, and schedule proposals to clients clearly and transparently.
  • Address client concerns and provide recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
  • Maintain relationships with a network of qualified subcontractors for competitive pricing and timely responses.
  • Engage with clients during the schematic design process to understand their vision, goals, and budgetary constraints.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with the design team to identify discrepancies or omissions and incorporate necessary revisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee preparation of scope of work clarifications.
  • Implement safety and quality plans on the jobsite, including participating in toolbox talks and conducting inspections.
  • Log daily detailed and accurate field reports in Procore or other applicable software with pictures.
  • Work with project teams to maintain accurate master schedule milestones and hold subcontractors accountable.
  • Coordinate with project management to schedule pre-install meetings and support facilitating these meetings.
  • Participate in preparing and running various project meetings and record meeting minutes and communications.
  • Mentor junior staff including project engineers, estimators, and trade workers to support their career development.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in architectural project management and quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and architectural components.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software, particularly Procore.

  • Experience with value engineering and cost estimation.

  • Leadership experience in mentoring junior staff.
