About the position

The Construction and General Maintenance Technician at Fort Liberty, NC, is responsible for providing essential support to Range 37 and Camp Mackall. This role involves performing general maintenance and repairs, building training aids, and utilizing basic industrial skills such as carpentry and metalworking. The technician will work closely with the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) to enhance supply management and maintenance operations, ensuring the operational needs for testing and training are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to Range 37 and Camp Mackall for training activities.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Build training aids and assist in various construction tasks.
• Utilize skills in carpentry, woodworking, metalworking, and other trades as required.
• Support supply management and maintenance operations for the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne).
• Operate Army Motor Vehicles and navigate using military or civilian maps.

Requirements

• Qualified in appropriate trades such as carpentry, electrical work, masonry, welding, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• No current or pending legal actions that would hinder job performance.
• Ability to work in austere field environments under various weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with FM, HF, and Motorola type radio communications.
• Knowledge of Army communications procedures and medical evacuation procedures.
