About the position

Key Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Assistant Project Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the Project Manager in planning and executing building construction and renovation projects. This position requires a proactive approach to coordinating bids and performing all functions necessary to help execute projects effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating construction activities on a daily basis, establishing budgets and schedules for construction projects, and monitoring and controlling expenses within the established budget. You will analyze construction problems and develop immediate resolutions, respond to customer inquiries and concerns promptly, and identify slippages or delays in construction, adjusting schedules to meet deadlines. Additionally, you will work closely with the Project Manager to develop project plans, quality assurance plans, and health and safety plans, while maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external clients, including representatives of the owner. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Project Engineer in the construction industry, particularly with a general contractor. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. A valid Driver's License is required for this position. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing building construction and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate bids and perform all functions of an Assistant Project Manager to help coordinate/execute projects.
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities on a daily basis.
  • Establish budget and schedule for construction projects.
  • Monitor and control expenses within the established budget.
  • Analyze construction problems and develop immediate resolutions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Identify slippages or delays in construction and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Identify milestones and problem areas and recommend preventive actions accordingly.
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop project plans, quality assurance plans, and health and safety plans.
  • Analyze RFI responses and monitor and process change orders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of the owner.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Project Engineer in the Construction Industry with a General Contractor is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or other related field is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
