About the position

The Operations crew member at Lamar Advertising is responsible for installing and maintaining billboards, ensuring that outdoor advertising campaigns are executed effectively. This role involves working as part of a team to complete a high volume of installations weekly, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining the quality of billboard structures. The position offers comprehensive training and opportunities for career advancement in the outdoor advertising industry.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain all billboards, including advertisements and structural upkeep.
  • Remove and hang flexes and vinyls, and prepare materials for installation.
  • Conduct repairs on structures, including tightening bolts, painting, and changing light bulbs.
  • Build and install extensions, conduct storm damage repairs, and perform minor electrical repairs.
  • Maintain operation vehicles and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Document installations through photographs and written logs.
  • Attend safety meetings and adhere to all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course required.
  • Good communication skills and ability to read and speak English fluently.
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Ability to comply with safety standards while performing work.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and fabrication skills and techniques.
  • Skill in reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to safely use construction equipment and work at heights above ground.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. preferred.
  • Certifications such as CDL/Non-CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD are preferred.
