About the position
The Construction Carpenter Lead at Fading West plays a crucial role in executing construction projects by leading a team of tradespeople. This position focuses on ensuring high-quality workmanship in modular home construction while collaborating closely with the site superintendent. The lead carpenter is responsible for managing tasks, training team members, and performing advanced carpentry work, contributing to the company's mission of building thriving and connected communities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality workmanship in the completion of modular homes
- Assist the site superintendent in managing and delegating tasks to FWC carpenters and laborers
- Perform advanced carpentry work
- Utilize skills and experience to train other members of the FWC team
- Perform carpentry tasks as assigned, including framing of garages, sheds, and decks, drywall, finish carpentry, cabinet and door installation and adjustment, flooring installation, siding, and roofing
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience required
- Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience with reading plans and basic framing layout required
- Advanced knowledge of job-site tools & equipment maintenance required
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
- Valid driver's license is required
