About the position

The Construction Controller will oversee financial operations for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with multi-state tax regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage job costing, change orders, and cost projections while collaborating with project teams to drive financial strategy and department success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including job costing, change orders, cost projections, and month-end close.
• Manage financial operations for multiple high-value projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Handle multi-state tax regulations and subcontractor/vendor management.
• Train and lead the accounting team, recommending process improvements and staffing as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely financial tracking and reporting.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in construction-related accounting.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
• Proficiency in job costing, change orders, and WIP reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables) and familiarity with QuickBooks and Procore.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
