About the position

AECOM is seeking multiple Construction Cost Estimating Specialists to support FEMA's Public Assistance Program. This role involves validating grant applications for disaster recovery projects, developing scopes of work, and preparing cost estimates. The position is fully remote and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure accurate project documentation and compliance with FEMA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Validate Public Assistance (PA) grant applications for disaster recovery projects.
• Develop scope of work and cost estimates for projects.
• Prepare Requests for Information (RFI) when additional information is needed.
• Attend daily stand-up meetings and complete required reports.
• Use estimating tools such as RSMeans and Xactimate to prepare cost estimates.
• Utilize FEMA's Grants Manager system to track project actions and documentation.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with no experience, or AA/AS degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience in cost estimating.
• General knowledge in the design and/or construction of public infrastructure.
• US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of relevant technical experience in public infrastructure design or construction.
• Experience providing excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth.
• Experience with cost estimating software like Xactimate and RSMeans.
