About the position

The Equipment & Logistics Manager at JR Merit, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the efficient utilization, maintenance, and tracking of all assets to support construction operations. This role involves managing warehouse operations, ensuring safety standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to forecast asset needs and support project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management, fleet operations, and logistics, with a focus on optimizing warehouse and yard performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and shipping of products to ensure efficiency, organization, and accuracy.
  • Manage warehouse operations including budget preparation, scheduling, purchasing, and reporting.
  • Establish and enforce asset management policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce company safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by verifying quantities received against packing lists.
  • Manage company fleet through inspection, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles and trailers.
  • Organize warehouse and yard storage areas for efficient material handling.
  • Support 5S workflows for delivery of items to project sites.
  • Load and unload material during shipping and/or receiving using appropriate equipment.
  • Coordinate quarterly and yearly budget projections based on operation and project requirements.
  • Manage job box inventory, job kitting, tool inventory, and equipment inventory.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in warehouse management, asset management, logistics, or equivalent role.
  • Forklift safety certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills for inventory management and data entry software requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and fleet/inventory management best practices.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety including OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DOT requirements for transportation.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, tools, vehicles, and their maintenance requirements.
