About the position

SSP Industries is seeking experienced Construction Equipment Operators for the Wet Underground Utilities division. The role involves operating various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, backhoes, and skid steers, while adhering to safety guidelines and ensuring efficient project completion.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and mini excavators safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform or request necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• Consult digging plans, machine specifications, and safety procedures for tasks.
• Ensure work is completed to specifications by observing grade stakes and material levels.
• Transport materials around job sites as needed.
• Manage time effectively to complete work projects on schedule.
• Collaborate with team members and assist ground crew when necessary.
• Maintain strong interpersonal skills and dependability in operations.

Requirements

• Ability to work well as part of a team and make good decisions.

• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a background check for military installations.

Nice-to-haves

• OSHA 10-hour safety training (preferred but can be obtained upon hire).
