About the position

The Estimator position at Ivy Resource Group involves assessing client requirements and preparing accurate project estimates for commercial construction projects. The role requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and project managers, as well as conducting site visits and utilizing specialized software for quantity measurement and bill preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assessing the Client's requirements
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials needed, and labour requirements
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that estimates are accurate
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary information
• Measuring quantities and preparation of the bill of quantities using specialized software and industry-standard methods
• Preparing and sending out subcontractor and supplier enquiries
• Analyse and interpret the subcontractor's proposals to ensure the Client's requirements are met
• Identify risks, opportunities and make informed decisions about pricing and profitability

Requirements

• Have worked for a similar contractor, 3 years experience as a minimum. 5 years + ideally
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and materials
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Professionally qualified preferably construction related or equivalent proven ability and experience in similar role
• Proficient computer skills, particularly Conquest estimating software and Excel
• Hold a full UK driving license
