About the position

PACO Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Facilitator to support critical infrastructure projects for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). This role involves coordinating field activities, managing construction schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards across multiple contractors. The Construction Facilitator will facilitate communication between internal teams, inspectors, and external stakeholders to minimize disruptions to WMATA's services, playing a key role in project execution and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure activities are scheduled and executed according to WMATA policies.
  • Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, and safety standards to evaluate contractor performance.
  • Assign daily duties and work schedules to Construction Inspectors and brief them on directives and production expectations.
  • Instruct Inspectors on inspection requirements and manage on-the-job issues and quality inspections.
  • Coordinate work schedules among contractors and disseminate schedule changes and progress updates.
  • Develop and implement solutions to field problems and record the resources used by contractors.
  • Conduct spot checks to verify material quantities for contractor payment requests and review daily reports from Inspectors.
  • Manage Crew Support Personnel and coordinate WMATA Equipment and work train requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Construction Inspector, Assistant Project Engineer, or Field Office Engineer.
  • Experience in design, construction, or major repair of infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating large projects with complex schedules and budgets.
  • Multi-discipline construction management experience.
  • Familiarity with WMATA standard processes and procedures.
  • Ability to complete WMATA's Roadway Worker Protection Certification (RWP) Class.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Procore.
