About the position

The Field Coordinator/Superintendent at Hoar Construction is responsible for overseeing the construction of projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule while adhering to regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. This role involves effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and design teams, and may require travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Study and understand drawings and specifications, and review existing industrial/commercial system configurations.
  • Develop work schedules for the installation of new industrial systems outside of ongoing operating hours.
  • Provide field oversight to multiple industrial systems contractors and ensure quality assurance of work.
  • Oversee equipment and system testing and commissioning.
  • Participate in Closeout Meetings between Architect/Engineer and Contractor.
  • Develop and manage various aspects of contract documents including plans, submittals, and change orders.
  • Work with the Project Manager to maintain business plans.
  • Maintain and track all field-related action items such as contractor safety meeting minutes and daily reports.
  • Utilize software management tools to maintain all project documentation.
  • Coordinate and participate in QC building envelope drawing reviews.
  • Review and assist contractors with QA/QC manuals to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Maintain coordination between all separate contractors onsite to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain good relationships with owners, architects, and engineers throughout the project.
  • Maintain Observation Report logs, Daily Reports, and Progress Photos.
  • Assist project team in reviewing contractor pay applications and material invoices.
  • Attend Pre-Construction conferences to address site-related issues with contractors.
  • Coordinate punch list work to avoid interference with building usage.
  • Assist in reviewing A/E drawings and specifications for constructability and quality issues.
  • Assist project team in defining project limits and safety plans.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to establish construction milestones and review Closeout Checklists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience with on-site management in new construction and large renovation projects required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and document management tools such as ProCore; scheduling software such as Suretrak/P6 or MS Project.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
