Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of experience in construction or agriculture
• Driver's License
• Supervising experience
• Proficient writing skills
• General math skills
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to read blueprints
• Mechanical knowledge
• Electrical experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise work crews by assigning and coordinating job activities.
• Monitor crew activity to ensure proper safety procedures are followed.
• Arrange for delivery of material and equipment to job sites.
• Streamline work processes by scheduling similar projects to decrease turnaround time.
• Read blueprints using proficient writing, reading, and general math skills.
• Assist in projecting needs for equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Determine, calculate, and secure the appropriate materials and supplies for specific projects.
• Keep accurate records of time for crew members.
• Lay out daily work schedules and assign tasks to individuals.
• Improve work methods to accomplish assigned work.
• Perform or assist subordinates in performing duties; adjust errors and complaints.
• Maintain harmony among workers and deal with grievances.
• Provide leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range plans.
• Coordinate department activities with other departments and agencies as needed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and in working condition.
• Follow safety procedures while on the job.
• Communicate effectively with field operations staff and office staff.
