The Construction Inspector (Geotechnical) will be responsible for inspecting and overseeing various construction projects, including buildings, dams, utilities, walls, and pavement. The primary goal is to ensure that all procedures and materials comply with the established plans and specifications. This role involves conducting pile inspections, observing the deep dynamic compaction process, and verifying the accuracy of structural installations. The inspector will also be responsible for preparing samples for laboratory testing, maintaining daily logs of construction activities, and participating in environmental audits. In addition to the technical aspects of the job, the inspector will be expected to apply their knowledge of geology and engineering principles to address challenges encountered during construction projects. This includes preparing geologic reports, conducting environmental studies, and overseeing the installation of monitoring wells. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The inspector will work under general supervision but will have the latitude for independent judgment in their daily tasks.
