About the position
The Construction Inspector at HDR, Inc. will be a key member of the Florida CEI (Construction Engineering and Inspection) program, focusing on fast-paced, short-duration projects primarily involving FDOT. The role requires independent work on various construction tasks including milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, and signalization, while also ensuring compliance with project specifications. This position offers opportunities for career advancement within a growing employee-owned company.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections on roadway and bridge construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepare final estimates and documentation for completed projects.
- Interact daily with FDOT Project Administrators and personnel to discuss project progress and issues.
- Work independently on assigned tasks while also collaborating with team members as needed.
- Perform inspections during night, holiday, and weekend hours as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Technical School or Associate's Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I, and others.
