WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Milwaukee, WI office, with consideration for candidates in Green Bay as well. This role is integral to our PM/CM Team, allowing you to be part of a growing organization that is dedicated to meeting client objectives and solving their challenges. As a Construction Inspector, you will work under general supervision to assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources including physical work sites, surveys, structural plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Your responsibilities will include performing basic professional inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction materials, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and permits. In this position, you will provide essential technical assistance to ensure the proper inspection and functioning of buildings, highways, roads, bridges, and other structures according to design specifications. You will also assist in verifying load calculations, interpreting contract plans, and escalating any discrepancies or technical issues for resolution. Documentation is a key part of this role; you will be responsible for generating complete and accurate reports related to your inspection findings using various electronic systems and formats. Compliance with client policies and safety guidelines is paramount, and you will be expected to complete training on assigned tasks while exhibiting a basic knowledge of current field inspection practices. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work alongside other professionals, engineers, and technicians on assigned inspection phases. Ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct is expected. Additional responsibilities may arise based on business needs, and you will be required to maintain a flexible schedule that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional travel may also be necessary depending on project-specific requirements.
