Responsibilities

• Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
• Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
• Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
• Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Observing general job safety practices.
• Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Possibility of weekend and night work as needed.

Requirements

• B.S. or B.A. degree in an appropriate construction-related, technical, or engineering field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and/or related experience.
• Eight (8) years of experience in construction inspection, two (4) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
• Preferred experience with IDOT, ISTHA, Chicago DOT, CTA, Metra, Class 1 Railroad construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
