About the position
The Construction Intern position at Walbridge for Summer 2025 is designed to provide students pursuing construction-related degrees with meaningful hands-on work experience. Interns will gain exposure to various aspects of the construction industry, working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive and inclusive environment. This internship aims to prepare students for potential full-time careers with Walbridge upon graduation, offering competitive pay and opportunities for part-time work during the school year.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of on-site construction and engineering activities for construction projects.
- Interpret design/drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents.
- Assist Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, and Coordinators with project-related technical and logistical functions, including subcontractor and supplier planning/administration.
- Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction in support of the overall project schedule.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a construction-related degree program (Engineering - EE, ME, CE, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree program) at an accredited college/university.
- Prior construction experience or military service is a plus.
- Knowledge of technology, computers, and software, including standard MS Office applications.
