SAK Construction is seeking dedicated Construction Laborers to join our team in the Salem, OR area. The pay range for this position is between $20.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating effectively with supervisors and peers to ensure the successful rehabilitation and repair of various sewer and storm water lines. You will direct operators of construction equipment, assisting with the alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to meet specific location needs. Additionally, you will be required to drive a range of vehicles, from pickups to tractor-trailer rigs, to transport crews and equipment to job sites. Your duties will also include assisting in the initial setup and cleanup of construction sites, reviewing entry and work permits, and helping to assess pre and post-installation videos. You may also need to enter manholes to cut lines for installation and perform other tasks as assigned. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work in confined spaces. You will need to comprehend instructions accurately to learn about the company's products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques, and equipment usage. Candidates must successfully pass a drug test and a driver's license check for the past five years, ensuring no suspensions or major traffic violations. Additionally, the role may require travel up to 90% of the time, depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with supervisors and peers in the successful rehabilitation and repair of a variety of sewer and storm water lines
  • Direct operators of construction equipment with alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to location needs
  • Drive various vehicles, from pickups to tractor-trailer rigs, to haul crews and equipment
  • Assist in initial setup and cleanup of sites
  • Review entry and work permits; and assist in the review of pre and post installation videos
  • Enter manhole to cut line for installation
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • CIPP experience, or an active CDL with outdoor construction experience
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to comprehend instructions accurately to learn company's products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use
  • Must successfully pass a drug test, as well as driver's license check for past 5 years without any suspensions or major traffic violations
  • Must be able to travel, as much as 90% as needed
