About the position
BCI General Contractors, Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Construction Laborer/Driver to join our team in San Jose, CA. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $26, depending on experience and productivity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various construction labor tasks, assisting carpenters and the superintendent on job sites, and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials. The role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, punctuality, and a proactive approach to work. Candidates must possess a valid California driver's license and be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Physical capability is essential, as the job involves lifting up to 30 lbs and climbing a 6-foot ladder. The work schedule consists of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work as needed. Safety equipment will be provided, and paid sick time is included as part of the benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and superintendent on job sites
- Perform general construction labor tasks
- Conduct general demolition and clean-up of job sites
- Drive a truck with a small dump trailer attached
- Safely pick up and deliver materials to job sites
- Organize and handle receipts for materials delivered
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Reliable transportation
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs
- Proficient with small tools (hammer, measuring tape, etc.)
- Ability to climb a 6' ladder
