About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Construction Laborer to join our commercial and residential construction company based in Wilmington, NC. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16 to $20, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as driving is a crucial part of the job. The role requires a willingness to learn and adapt, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on various construction projects. As a General Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the successful completion of construction projects. This includes operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, moving equipment, job site clean-up, and material pick-up and returns. While carpentry and painting skills are a plus, they are not mandatory. The company values a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, and there is always room for advancement within the organization. Health insurance benefits will be available after 90 days of employment, and the work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a 45-minute lunch break. On Fridays, the workday ends at 12:30 pm, and overtime may be required on some Fridays. Travel is expected from Jacksonville to Brunswick County, and a gas or vehicle allowance will be provided for jobs that require travel.
Responsibilities
- Moving equipment, including driving a truck with a trailer and 5th wheel.
- Operating skid steers and other heavy equipment.
- Performing job site clean-up and maintenance.
- Picking up and returning materials as needed.
- Assisting with punch-out tasks and finishing work.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to arrive at work on time and ready to work.
- Experience in construction, preferably 2 years.
