About the position

The Construction & Maintenance Man is responsible for performing building construction and maintenance tasks on properties owned, leased, or serviced by Chugach Electric Association. This role involves a variety of construction and maintenance duties, ensuring the upkeep and functionality of facilities while adhering to safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, additions, remodeling, repairs, maintenance, and installation or removal of structures.
• Layout and construct wood foundations, forms, and concrete structures.
• Remove, replace, or repair consumer-owned properties or structures.
• Maintain proficiency in the operation and care of vehicles, equipment, and tools used in building construction and maintenance.
• Responsible for inventory, storage, and general upkeep of all hand and power tools used in building construction and maintenance.
• Read and interpret maps, specifications, drawings, and blueprints related to daily work and comply with all applicable specifications and codes.
• Use protective and safety equipment properly and maintain knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques and emergency procedures.
• Direct work of Maintenance Man and Construction and Maintenance Helper.
• Move, repair, maintain, and construct office furniture and furnishings as assigned.
• Perform snow removal of Chugach's Anchorage office parking lots, entrances, and pathways.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years in the construction or building maintenance trades.
• Valid Alaska Driver's License.
• Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate or State of Alaska approved equal.

Nice-to-haves

• Other certifications may be required by the State and/or Municipality of Anchorage for the work performed.
