About the position

The Construction/Maintenance Planner Associate at APS plays a crucial role in coordinating resources for construction and maintenance projects, ensuring that the necessary materials, equipment, and manpower are available for project completion. This position involves developing work packages, assisting with project design and scheduling, and performing project management for smaller-scale projects. The role requires a strong focus on safety and compliance with company standards, as well as effective communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison with customers on various projects to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Coordinate resources for construction projects to ensure fully staffed crews are available.
  • Analyze equipment for scheduled maintenance and order necessary materials.
  • Develop specific work plans to address project issues, ensuring quality and detail.
  • Perform design duties for smaller-scale projects and provide cost estimates.
  • Encourage open communication to resolve differences and interpret company policies.
  • Assist with environmental issues and hazardous materials communication if applicable.
  • Perform inspections per specification requirements and maintain department documents.
  • Engage subject matter experts to ensure accurate work package development.
  • Determine necessary craft skills and budget estimates for work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent discipline.
  • Associate's degree in a related discipline with one year of experience in construction management or project management.
  • High school diploma with three years of experience in construction management or project management.
  • Working knowledge of company policies, environmental regulations, and OSHA standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Maximo.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with work scheduling is preferred.
  • Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
