As a Construction Manager for DCC Communities at Amazon Data Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the construction of new data centers and capital improvement projects. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field, along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant construction experience, or 11 years of experience in lieu of a degree. You will be responsible for managing large-scale construction projects that involve complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In this role, you will own the project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction activities. You will collaborate with various partner teams, including Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning, to build data centers that meet the needs of our customers. As a leader in construction management, you will represent Amazon on construction sites, interacting with construction trades and overseeing the daily operations of multiple construction projects. Your responsibilities will include managing the construction bidding process, negotiating with general contractors, and evaluating bids with precision. You will also be tasked with managing construction documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoices. Additionally, you will drive construction teams to troubleshoot equipment failures and support the commissioning and testing of integrated systems. Your role will also involve analyzing construction progress and financials, reporting key metrics to team members and management, and contributing to initiatives aimed at improving construction efficiency and data center resiliency.
