About the position

The Construction Manager - Government Representative will serve as the technical representative for the Federal Government on construction projects. This role involves managing projects from the Government's perspective, focusing on cost, schedule, and quality control, while advising on design and construction activities. The position requires effective communication with stakeholders and oversight of Government responsibilities related to design requirements and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the Government owner's technical representative for construction projects.
  • Manage projects from project assignment through close-out and occupancy.
  • Advise on design and construction activities with an emphasis on cost, schedule, and quality control.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and team members.
  • Review change order requests and coordinate Government vendor activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of experience in commercial construction project management, or no degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Completion of the OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Experience in conducting meetings and briefing clients and management personnel.
  • Experience developing cost estimates, tracking funds, and writing scope documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Experience in water and wastewater projects.

Nice-to-haves
