Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction Team. This role is critical as our data centers serve as the backbone of our rapidly scaling infrastructure, ensuring that our innovative services are delivered efficiently. The Construction Manager will be responsible for managing the construction, commissioning, and turnover of data centers within a campus program, ensuring that these facilities are built and operated in a manner that guarantees high uptime, capacity availability, and capital conservation. The engineering team takes a holistic approach, considering everything from chip to chiller, to maximize the efficiency of our compute infrastructure. In this position, the Construction Manager will oversee the budget associated with the project, manage the cost change process, and negotiate the best pricing to ensure financial efficiency. They will also be responsible for managing the project schedule and associated risks, ensuring reliable and predictable turnover dates. The role requires effective communication with stakeholders regarding project status and risks, as well as negotiation of vendor and contractor contracts as needed. The Construction Manager will work closely with the General Contractor and other key stakeholders to foster a collaborative culture, while also coordinating with the Procurement/Sourcing groups to support project needs. The Construction Manager will support pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects, promote prefabrication strategies, and assist in developing Capital Project Budgets and Construction ROMs. They will also support the Lease Delivery Manager with the campus-wide book of work, ensuring effective contractor, designer, and vendor management. The role includes on-site inspection processes to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to Facilities Operations. Additionally, the Construction Manager will promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety, responding to emergencies as needed and maintaining a deep knowledge of the market to support site selection efforts. This position requires 50% travel to Lease Project Build Sites across North America and involves managing multiple simultaneous Data Center construction projects from inception through completion, in alignment with Meta's Basis of Design. The Construction Manager will also support the creation of preliminary construction schedules and cost estimates, ensuring high-level resource planning and stakeholder coordination.
