Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program. This role requires you to manage the budget associated with the project, oversee the cost change process, and negotiate the best pricing. You will also be tasked with managing the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates. Additionally, you will handle warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when necessary, and communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project. Your responsibilities will include negotiating vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders, mitigating risk for the project through pre-planning and innovative planning, and developing cost savings solutions while identifying project savings or underruns early. You will partner with the General Contractor, external key stakeholders, and other vendors to build a culture of collaboration, as well as coordinate needs with the Procurement/Sourcing groups to support the project needs. Supporting pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects and promoting prefabrication strategies will also be part of your role. You will support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Construction ROMs, assist the Lease Delivery Manager with the lease campus-wide book of work, and support the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to FacOps. Additionally, you will promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications, while leading an industry-leading safety culture and program. This position requires 50% travel to Lease Project Build Sites across North America and the ability to respond to emergencies as needed. You will maintain deep knowledge of the market and support the site selection team in developing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, managing multiple simultaneous Data Center construction projects from inception through construction completion in alignment with Meta's Basis of Design.
