About the position

The Industrial Services Construction Manager will oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and integrity standards. This role involves developing project plans, managing budgets, coordinating teams, and maintaining compliance with regulations while fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, setting objectives, determining resource requirements, and establishing timelines and milestones for project completion.
  • Create and manage project budgets, track expenses, review costs, and ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and services needed for construction activities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure construction activities meet specified standards and regulations.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify and resolve any quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on construction sites.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct regular inspections to mitigate risks.
  • Manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of employees and subcontractors.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project timelines and budgets.
  • Address issues as they arise to keep the project on track.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders, clients, and senior management through the use of P6 reporting, Microsoft Projects, etc.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to assess lessons learned, identify areas for improvement, and document best practices for future projects.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
  • 8-10 years' experience in a construction supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of methods and materials common to the construction trades.
  • Understanding of the trade's best practices and general building standards.
  • Working knowledge of the Uniform Building Code (U.B.C.).
