About the position

The Construction Manager at CMTA is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of construction projects post-design phase, ensuring that contracts are fulfilled smoothly. This role requires expertise in HVAC and commercial construction, along with strong communication skills. The Construction Manager will work closely with a team of engineers, administrative staff, and subcontractors, primarily on-site during heavy construction periods, while also managing tasks remotely during other project phases.

Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings for scope, constructability, and cost savings.
  • Assist with subcontractor selection and manage the bid process.
  • Develop construction schedules and manage subcontractors to meet milestones.
  • Administer safety programs and develop project safety binders.
  • Order equipment and manage lead times for construction-related items.
  • Lead construction review meetings and document progress for the owner.
  • Assist with commissioning efforts and address M&V items during construction.
  • Review subcontractor pay applications and track project financials.
  • Schedule factory start-ups and ensure warranty requirements are met.
  • Coordinate owner training and develop O&M manuals and as-builts.

Requirements

  • Experience in HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction management.
  • Ability to manage subcontractor contracts and the bid process.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and construction scheduling.
