About the position

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Staff Project Manager to join their Charlotte team. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment, with no prior experience required. The role involves assisting with field tasks related to construction materials testing and gaining exposure to project management under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assisting staff with field tasks supporting various construction materials testing projects.
• Performing field testing of materials including soils, aggregate, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, asphalt pavement, and fireproofing.
• Documenting site observations and results in daily reports using proprietary software for construction materials testing (CMT) projects.
• Interacting and collaborating with colleagues and clients, keeping the project team informed of changing site conditions and additional testing requests.
• Attending project meetings as requested and beginning to learn how to classify soil.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology.
• Valid driver's license and insurance.
• Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Functional knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Sound understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
