About the position

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join their Monroeville team. The role involves conducting tests and observations on construction materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting career development through various training programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction sites.
• Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment.
• Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers.
• Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and insurance required.
• Willingness to develop understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
• Desire to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.

Nice-to-haves

• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
