About the position

The Construction Operations Assistant at SouthEast Bank plays a crucial role in supporting the Construction Operations Manager (COM) in managing the lifecycle of construction loans. This position ensures compliance with lending policies from the application stage through to project completion, facilitating effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders involved in the construction loan process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate regular inspections and reviews to verify project progress and adherence to loan terms.
  • Assist COM in the disbursement of construction funds, including verifying progress reports, contractor invoices, and other third-party documentation.
  • Assist COM in analyzing project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure they align with loan terms.
  • Review contractor qualifications and assist in maintaining the approved builder list.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment to providers for services engaged in connection with construction monitoring, such as inspectors, title companies, and other construction-related professionals.
  • Work closely with loan officers and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information and documentation to complete draw requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices for construction loan administration.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of loan policies and procedures and identify exceptions to policy.
  • Provide technical assistance to loan officers as needed.
  • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Background in construction loans preferred.
  • Experience in real estate preferred.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to follow up and provide status updates clearly, concisely, and expediently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Awareness of project schedules, goals, and milestones in order to properly plan and track to completion.
  • Ability to present analysis, recommendations, and solutions to internal lending teammates.
