About the position

The Construction Operations Manager at Staker & Parson Companies is responsible for organizing, developing, and overseeing construction operations. This skilled position requires managing various functions related to construction field operations, ensuring safety and environmental stewardship, and mentoring staff. The role involves coordinating with asphalt and ready-mix plant managers and overseeing superintendents, estimators, and project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, develop, and oversee construction operations.
  • Ensure safety and environmental stewardship of sites.
  • Mentor and monitor staff, acting as a coach and role model.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate others to achieve optimal performance.
  • Ensure construction best practices and performance tools are utilized.
  • Oversee daily construction operations, including scheduling equipment and manpower.
  • Manage superintendents, estimators, and project managers.
  • Maintain backlog reporting and long-term scheduling.
  • Document and archive project and personnel correspondence.
  • Assist in managing awarded projects regarding scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Participate in budget creation and management to meet financial targets.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel and contractors to resolve issues.
  • Handle personnel recruitment, selection, training, and retention.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction-related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Construction operations, scheduling, and supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, project specifications, and plan set drawings.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and estimating/accounting software.
