About the position

The Construction Project Coordinator at J.B. Henderson Construction plays a crucial role in supporting the project management team by overseeing various aspects of the project life cycle. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow under the mentorship of a Project Manager. The Project Coordinator will assist in coordinating project activities, ensuring that all documentation is maintained accurately and efficiently throughout the project duration, from inception to final invoicing and post-construction activities. In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for processing timely contract-related transactions, including Change Orders and Proposed Change Orders, to suppliers, subcontractors, and owners. They will assist in the preparation of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders, ensuring that signed copies are issued and that all data is entered into the project management software as needed. Maintaining current project files and providing copies of applicable correspondence will also be part of their responsibilities. The Project Coordinator will process Submittals, Requests for Information (RFI), and Transmittals in a timely and accurate manner, and will be tasked with obtaining and filing Certificates of Insurance as required by the project. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will maintain accurate document logs and assist in the preparation of closeout documentation, including as-builts, Operations & Maintenance manuals, and warranties. They will oversee the review, approval, and distribution process to ensure that all project documentation is completed and distributed appropriately. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while contributing to the overall success of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of project activities throughout the project life cycle.
  • Process timely contract-related transactions including Change Orders and Proposed Change Orders.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Subcontracts and Purchase Orders to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure signed copies of contracts are issued and data is entered into the software as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous project coordination experience required.
  • Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Elementary knowledge of job costing/budgeting.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Common sense construction practice knowledge.
  • Ability to multi-task.
