About the position
The Construction Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager will assist Project Managers in various activities related to construction projects, including procurement, submittals, scheduling, and budget management. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while also providing leadership and support to the project team.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in all activities related to construction projects.
- Manage procurement and submittals for projects.
- Create and maintain project schedules to ensure on-time completion.
- Work within budget parameters to manage project costs.
- Build and maintain rapport with architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Understand and administer contract and subcontract agreements.
- Interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
- Manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of related construction experience, preferably in civil or life sciences.
- Degree in Construction Management or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in project management/construction management software.
- Effective communication skills to motivate the team.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
