About the position

The Construction Project Engineer (PE) / Quality Control (QC) role at Valiant Integrated Services involves overseeing project site deliverables, ensuring quality control and safety management, and inspecting work areas to maintain compliance with plans and specifications. The position requires collaboration with subcontractors and staff to achieve project objectives, particularly in a healthcare construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in generating all project site deliverables, site planning and logistics, quality control management and safety management.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the work area in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies as appropriate.
  • Working in an operating healthcare facility may require off-hour work to maintain operations.
  • Performing remedial tasks using basic computer software like scheduling, update reports, and email.
  • Reading, comprehending, and interpreting contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Attending site visits, design meetings, project progress meetings, and final inspections.
  • Assisting with project design, planning, and review to accomplish contractual objectives.
  • Providing direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades, and crafts.
  • Assisting in developing, monitoring, updating, and communicating the progress schedule and its periodic revisions.
  • Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Adhering and maintaining project site Safety and Health Plan to contract documents, regulations, and procedures.
  • Adhering and maintaining project site Quality Controls Plan (QCP) to contract documents and specifications.
  • Inspecting and documenting all project site operations and activity to ensure contract compliance.
  • Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Investigating damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites and ensuring that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Taking actions to mitigate the result of delays or emergencies at project site.

Requirements

  • Experience in Medical / Healthcare Construction preferred.
  • Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting, general construction.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Projects.
  • Experience with P6 (Oracle) is preferred.
  • ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (preferred but not required).
  • OSHA - 30 HR Construction Safety & Health (preferred but not required).
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (preferred but not required).
  • US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors (preferred but not required).
  • Sufficient work-related experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
