About the position

Our Project Engineer position is a developmental role supported by Structural Group Inc.'s Project Engineer Career Development (PECD) Program. Founded in the 90s, the PECD program has been instrumental in developing impactful leaders within our company. This program is a three-year mentorship run-competency managed rotational development program aimed at internal promotion. As a Project Engineer, you will engage hands-on and boots-on-the-ground with multiple mentors across various areas of expertise. You can expect to master essential skills such as estimating, budget preparation, project cost control, scheduling, production rate tracking, safety management, quality control management, business development, and client relations. This unique opportunity allows you to ‘choose your own journey,’ offering various options for your career throughout your tenure with Structural Group Inc. We are looking for dynamic individuals eager to be hands-on in developing and managing vertical concrete repair projects while taking advantage of the diverse career paths available. To succeed in this role, you must be dependable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative team-based environment. The Project Engineer role will be an in-office position supported by our STRUCTURAL Salt Lake City team located in North Salt Lake, UT. In this role, you can expect to travel across the United States 80% of the time, with opportunities for international travel. Our STRUCTURAL Salt Lake City team tackles projects across multiple industries, with a primary focus on industrial and power sectors. Throughout your tenure as a Project Engineer, you will support multiple projects within these industries.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on development and management of vertical concrete repair projects.
  • Participate in the PECD program for professional growth and mentorship.
  • Master skills in estimating, budget preparation, and project cost control.
  • Track scheduling and production rates effectively.
  • Manage safety and quality control on projects.
  • Develop business and client relations to enhance project success.
  • Support multiple projects across various industries, primarily industrial and power.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • A minimum of one relevant internship experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional documentation and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for solving problems.
  • Reliable transportation from the office to job sites.
